Deciphering the authorship of a work of art has always been at the centre of art history. However, as interest in intention, meaning and contextual history has grown, the skill of visual analysis and visual authentication has lost its pride of place.
Through identifying the material make-up of ceramics and works of art, regional characteristics of Chinese modern paintings, and deciphering specific styles and brush marks of contemporary Asian artists, you will gain a deeper insight into the world of Asian art. The course will conclude with a specialist-led private viewing of the Christie’s sales.
